Pink Unicorns and Alien Green Snot

We are ALL SICK!!!!! I hate being sick but even more I hate my kids being sick. It is so sad when they don't feel good. Today I took both kiddos to the doctors. They have had alien green snot dripping from their tiny noses for 3 days now. Sophia is coughing, Fletcher is miserable, and James and I are exhausted. If anyone in either of our families read this COME HELP US!!!!! The doctor informed me that both kids had slight ear infections, Fletchers worse than Sophia's. Fletcher has blisters in his throat that are causing him to drool worse than normal (which means that he may dehydrate from drool..lol) They are both on antibiotics. Fletcher has the baby version of a Z pack...thanks to his inability to take large amounts of medicine. Let me explain, SNOT + FLETCHER + MEDICINE = PUKE FEST!!!! Sophia is on Amoxycillin which she thinks is awesome because it is pink. I am just drugging myself with Dayquil and Ibuprofen and trying to get through this school week without my head exploding. Thanks goes out to Grandma Karen who watched the kids today for a couple of hours so Sophia and Fletcher did not contaminate any other kids. I am just appologizing now in case we get anyone else sick because I know how crappy it is to have sick kids or be sick yourself.

On a lighter note, Sophia got her halloween costume. I thought $30.00 was too much to spend on a halloween costume but the fact that she has not taken it off since we got it makes me feel better. She got a pink unicorn outfit from Target, it looks like she is riding the unicorn. Her legs are the back legs and then she holds the head up iwth the reins and the front legs are stuffed. She has worn the thing for 2 days straight and even slept with it last night. She wore it to the doctors this morning and has named it Stawberry Shortcake. She feeds it pretend food and pets it. I guess we will actually get our money's worth out of this costume. Hopefully she is not sick of it by halloween.

Let there be LIGHT

I now have a bathroom light and mirror. YIPPEEEE, I am really excited that the lamp that has been sitting in my bathroom is gone and I don't have to put my makeup on in the kids room. James finished some of the drywall tonight and installed the light and mirror so I am so excited. Hopefully this weekend the tiling will start. We will just have to see how it goes, As of right now we have a shower, toilet (still the old one but it works), the new light, and a new mirror. Progress is being made. Updates still to come...........

Pumpkin Painting

So on Saturday James had to go to Pittsburg and the kids and I were left to fend for ourselves. We decided to go to Market Fest 2008, (it sucked). They were supposed to have pumpkin painting for the kids and vendors selling crafts. The small handful of vendors and the fact that the pumpkin painting did not start until 11:00 am, was a total turn off. My kids were cranky and Sophia was demanding pumpkin painting. So, Wondermom that I am, bought 10 small pumpkins, stoppped at home and got paint, and headed to my dads house. I figured why not let the kids spend some quality time with the grandparents and make a huge mess. The kids loved painting the pumpkins and Nana, Pap Mick, and Grandma Karen all got some nice decorations for their front porches. Fletcher was absolutlely covered in paint, and Grandma Karen told Sophia she should paint her legs, (thanks)....Fletcher ended up in Nana's utility sink and Sophia was cleaned up with some baby wipes. The kids also got to see Aunt Peg and Uncle Mike. Heck with Market Fest 2008 we had our own fun!!!!!

WHY NOT

As my stress level reached its limit I broke down and let the kids trace themselves on the drywall that was being hung in my new bathroom. It was about 9:30 pm, 3 1/2 hours past bed time and they were driving me insane. I finally broke out the crayons and began tracing. Sophia was loving it and Fletcher was not complaining. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED. The only problem is, now Fletcher thinks he can color on whatever he wants. OH WELL, at this point I could really care less. After the coloring was done, the drywall became a dance floor. Who knew so much could come from a piece of wall. Someday when our house is torn down or remodeled, someone is going to see some nice art on that back of their walls.

Well, I wanted a new bathroom ........

I have been wanting to remodel our bathroom but sometimes you have to be careful what you wish for. On Sunday morning while I was in the shower, James came upstairs and informed me that we had a problem. Water was coming through the kitchen ceiling from our bathroom. We started removing tile one row at a time and found that we had major problems. The walls were completely saturated with water, they were basically mush. The sink and tub were both causing issues. Then we found MOLD!!!!! So now I have no bathroom. Tonight James hung shower curtains all around the tub so we can shower and we are brushing our teeth in the kitchen....FUN FUN FUN. I went to Lowes and picked out new bathroom stuff so let the remodel begin.

Not enough time in a day

We have been so busy, there is just not enough time in the day to keep up with everything. I have been running around like a chicken with its head cut off for 2 weeks now. Since starting nursing school, if I am not taking care of kids, my head is in a book. I have class 5 days a week, Sophia is in preschool 4 days a week, Fletcher goes to three different houses 4 days a week, James is working full time at West Lib teaching, and James is driving to Morgantown on Fridays and he does not get home until 7:00pm. Wow we are just out of our minds. I don't know how we are going to find the time to relax. We just want to say a HUGE THANKS to our awesome friends who are helping us with Fletcher. I don't know what we would do without them. I feel so lucky to have people that care about my kids as much as I do. It is a huge relief and weight off my shoulders to know that he is being taken care of and that he is having fun. Sometimes I am not sure how I made it through the day without the friends that I have now. They are awesome. THANKS AGAIN GIRLS!!!!!!
